VHF contest 2027: I'm coming

2025 watching, 2026 a few hours at the rig. On 4 and 5 September 2027 I'll be back at the Traisnerhütte — and this time not to watch.

Twice now I have been at the IARU Region 1 VHF contest on the Traisnerhütte, 1,313 metres, JN77TX. 2025 as a guest, watching a station work its way to sixth place out of 193. 2026 with a few hours at the rig myself, in conditions that reached 1,005 kilometres.

The contest runs every year on the first weekend of September, from Saturday 16:00 to Sunday 16:00. Next year that is 4 and 5 September 2027.
